6/25/08- We would like to Welcome and thank the Wittenberg Veterinary Clinic and Dr Linda Prososki for sponsoring K9 Deano's vet care. 

6/10/08- We were recently informed that Northland Veterinary Hospital, that sponsors K9 Deano's vet care has now closed their business.  We would like to thank Northland Veterinary Hospital and their staff for their sponorship and services for the past 2 years. 

6/07/08- We are establishing a Citizen K9 Advocate Committee.  Meetings are currently being held monthly.  If you or someone you know would be interested in becoming an Advocate please feel free to contact us (see contact page). 

11/12/07- With winter fast approaching, we are looking for places to train indoors.  If you or someone you know has a building or place that would allow our K9 Unit to train indoors please feel free to contact Deputy Tyler Rich at (715) 526-3111. 

7/13/07- Members of D.P.A.A. came to the Shawano Sheriff's Office and gave a generous donation for the purchase of a bullet proof vest for K9 Deano.  D.P.A.A held a fundraiser on June 30, 2007 in Eland, WI to help raise funds to purchase K9 Deano a bullet proof vest.  The remainder of the funds they raised went to the Shawano County Humane Society and D.P.A.A.  Thank you to all whom helped with this fundraiser!

K9 Deano

3/04/2007- Our new K9 (Deano) arrived in Shawano on Sunday, March 4, 2007.  K9 Deano flew from North Carolina.  K9 Deano traveled with master trainer Mike Bullock.  Mike will be training with K9 Deano and Deputy Tyler Rich for about a week.  K9 Deano was born on May 4, 2005 in Germany and trained by Mike Bullock in Greenville, NC. 


K9 Beny July 9, 2005 to January 12, 2007

2/17/2007- (FUNDRAISER) Members of the Community are organizing a fund raiser to help pay for K9 Beny's medical expenses.  The rummage sale/silent auction is going to be held at the Comfort Inn & Suites (W7393 River Bend Rd, Shawano, WI) on Saturday, March 31, 2007.  All proceeds will go to benefit the Shawano County Sheriff Community K9 Program. 

1/12/2007- K9 Beny passed away from complications due to his cancer.  For the short time K9 Beny was working he was responsible for about 10 drug arrests.  K9 Beny will be greatly missed.

11/19/2006- It was discovered that our beloved K9 Beny was diagnosed with cancer.  The trainer is going to replace K9 Beny with another K9 in March of 2007.  Our trainer is going to hand deliver another K9 to the Shawano County Sheriff's Office and train in the Shawano Area with Deputy Tyler Rich at no charge.
