K9 Unit Sponsors

The Shawano County Sheriff Community K9 Program was established in September 2006 under Sheriff Robert Schmidt (retired). This program is now supported by Sheriff Randy Wright.  It is completely sponsored by donations from: businesses, civic organizations, and the citizens of Shawano County. The K9 Unit is on call 24 hours, 7 days a week for the citizens and businesses of the Shawano County Area.

This is the Community's program and is supervised by the Shawano County Sheriff's Office.  It is operated solely on donations.  Ideas are taken from members of the Community and implemented into the program.  Community members submit ideas to the Sheriff's Office, and they work together to make this program a success.

Deputy Tyler Rich and K9 Beny have been a team from September 2006 to January 2007. Deputy Rich has been with the Shawano County Sheriff's Office since June 2000.
